Pathfinder is a great first roleplaying system for kids. Why Pathfinder and not D&D? After playing D&D 3.5 for many years, our grown-up gaming group transitioned to Pathfinder several years ago, so we simply chose the system we were most familiar with. We started our 7-year-old son with the Pathfinder Beginner Box, which is a starter set containing everything a new gaming group needs to create characters, learn the rules, and start playing. I’ve created a document detailing resources for using the Pathfinder Beginner Box, which I plan to keep updated as we try out new adventure modules.
